i just got an ipod touch yesterday, and whenever i try to play my music through my memorex "made for ipod" dock, the music will only play through the ipod touch speakers. the dock reads that an ipod is connected, and the battery will charge on the ipod touch, but it will not play through the dock speakers. i don't think the problem is with the dock, as it will charge and play the music on my ipod classic. how do i fix this connection???
it hasn't been resolved, but i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the new iOS 4 software. hopefully it will be fixed with the next software update.
I had the same problem....however the issue is fixed in the latest software update release (4.0.2). Download that in iTunes and install it on your iPod and everything should be good to go!
I have the lastest software update on my iPod Touch and experienced the same problem today. Did some research and the stock answer, which worked in my case, is to perform a reset by pressing the hold and the power buttons together for a few seconds until the Ipod reboots.
All your settings are retained but sorts the problem out. Clearly a software issue but acts just like a hardware fault.
I have an iPod Touch running iOS 4.2.1 and it still will not play through speakers. I reset it using the hold and home buttons, but the problem still occures. This has happened with all of the docks I have tried. Any advice?
