iomega hd driver
I have an ancient iomega HDD 40gb hard drive that used to be connected to my fil's Mac circa 2008 or so. How do I go about getting a driver for it for my iMac mid 2010 vintage?

It will help if you tell us the exact model iomega drive (name & model #) ... also if you can figure out what kind of connector it has.
Does it use a cartridge or is it an actual hard drive? Iomega was best known for its Zip, Jazz and Clik! drives, all of which used disk cartridges; if I recall correctly they used either a parallel port connection or a SCSI connection, neither of which is available in any modern Mac. Some of the old PowerMac G3 & G4 Macs came with Zip drives built in.
They did have a variety of external HDDs that used either USB or Firewire connections. If you have a USB model you probably just need the right kind of USB cable to connect it to your Mac. If it's Firewire, check your 2010 iMac, it may have one or two Firewire ports.
FWIW, even if you can get it working, it's old enough you really should not plan on using it. Yes, copy off any old files you want to keep, but don't expect much forward life from that drive.
