Automatic downloads in music settings.

I have an iPhone 14 pro, newest iPad Pro, and an old iPod all running iOS 16.3 and before if I bought and downloaded a song off iTunes it automatically downloaded to all my devices but doesn’t anymore at least to my iPad now for a while. Checked music settings and found out there is no automatic download toggle on any of my i devices. I have download over cellular and it’s turned on but no automatic downloads toggle at all. If I select sync music then it will pop up and work but I don’t really want to sync my music so as soon as I turn it off the automatic download toggle disappears. Do I absolutely have to have sync music on for this option now? Or is there someone out there that doesn’t have sync music on but still has the toggle to auto download purchases? Attached is a photo from my iPod with sync library off and what it shows.

You should be able to use these steps to enable automatic music downloads: Buy or download music from the iTunes Store in Music on Mac These steps include how to do this on the iOS devices, as shown below:

Turn on automatic downloads on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Important: Before turning on automatic downloads on an iOS or iPadOS device, make sure you signed in to the iTunes Store using the same Apple ID that you used to sign in to Music on your Mac.

1. On your device’s Home screen, tap Settings, then tap iTunes & App Store.

2. Tap to turn on Music (and any other items you want to download automatically).

If you're unable to follow these steps or it doesn't solve the issue, then it would be best to contact Apple Support directly. Here's how you could do that: Contact Apple Support
