Disable Bluetooth auto connect for specific devices iPhone WITHOUT "Forgetting" the device?

I have my earbuds paired to both my iPhone and my laptop for work Teams calls. Every time I take a Teams call, in the background my podcasts start playing and don't realize it's occurring until my Teams call is over, meanwhile the podcast is "x" minutes played and I need to find out where I truly left off.

Is there a way to disable Bluetooth auto connect for specific devices iPhone WITHOUT "Forgetting" the device? Seems like there isn't and if that is the case, WHY NOT?!?!?!
