But my battery info says this battery’s health is 76%.
And Apple strongly recommends that you replace the battery when Max Capacity it is down to 80%, so you are probably 5-6 months overdue on that.
On average, Battery Health / Max Capacity will decline about 1% a month, so on average you can expect to replace a phone's battery at around 2 years.
If your battery went this long on an iPhone 8, your battery did great.... quite a bit better than average. Congrats!
Have the battery replaced at an Apple Store or authorized Apple Service shop. About $49.
It almost like Apple did not not take the time to optimise IOS 16.3 for older devices..
How do you explain the many millions of iPads that are working just fine with current updates?
Apple users are not bashful. If there were a problem, this forum would be flooded with posts. It's not.
I am experiencing intermittent severe battery drain since updating my iPhone 8+ to iOS 16.3.
I have caught the battery diving down quickly when I see a gear icon spinning next to the WiFi symbol on the top left of my screen.
Otherwise, I get a full day out of the original battery.

sibeso ~ 99% is unexpectedly high for an iPhone X original battery...
Did you buy your iPhone X new or used or refurbished?
How many years ago did you buy it?

I thought it was me but yes unbelievable battery drain. I can see the battery going down by the minute it loses one percentage all the time. Thought it was my phone and battery but it’s still ok. Unbelievable they force us to take an update and take away battery use
The exact same thing has happened to mine. My phone went from charging it every 2 days to having to charge it 3 times a days, as soon as I completed the last update. Did you take it into apple to try to resolve this? I heard apple does this through an update, so you are forced to upgrade your phone. It’s pretty ****.
So just because YOU say so I shouldn’t believe my eyes, my experience, nor anyone else’s? Do better than that dude! New phone here, battery was just fine till the latest upgrade. Don’t bother responding.
I tried everything, including reinstalling other firmware versions. I am not even saying about uninstalling apps, tuning settings, etc.
I am tired of all your obvious pieces of advice.
It would be very easy to rule out this update from causes if... I just could make a rollback to a previous version! But I cannot. Because Apple closes the ability to provide some signing process for previous versions. And that's it. The key problem - with this. We CANNOT rule out the update from the causes.
Nothing in phone settings fixes the issue my phone was fine until the stupid update now it dies within a few hours versus days so no it’s not settings it’s the update and it needs to be fixed my phone is only a year old and has been fine up until now!!!!!!
After the last update about a month or so ago, it Dec 21 2023 now, my iPhone has many problems like the battery is draining within hours. Lots have changed almost like a new phone! When I send pictures or things through texting many are not going through!!
Same issue
