iPhone lock screen lag

I have an iPhone 13 pro max, currently running iOS 16.3. Since the past few days, I have been noticing a lag (a little delay) between pressing the lock button and the screen turning off/locking. The delay is very minute but still noticeable enough. Surprisingly, there is no lag while pressing the button again for unlocking/turning the screen on. The lag in locking is too annoying. I have tried restarting the phone twice and even updated the software too yesterday, but all in vain.

Can someone help me fix the issue?

Hi there minhajmahdi,

Have you tried force restarting your iPhone to see if that resolves the issue for you? Follow these steps:

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button.
4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

You'll find this information here: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If this behavior with your iPhone taking longer than expected to lock the screen persists, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support directly for further assistance. Take care.
