Everytime I use my Google Chrome browser it switches to a yahoo search.

I have the Google Chrome browser for my Macbook Pro and everytime I try to use it to look something up on google, the search engine instantly switches to a yahoo search. I tried switching to safari search as well and it did the same thing.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Please read Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron" / etc on your own - Apple Community. If it describes the problem you are experiencing, please write back.

The particular names by which these things go is not particularly relevant.

Reset Google Chrome to its defaults by following these instructions:

Remove "CleanMyMac" and "MacKeeper" according to their instructions. Non-Apple "cleaning" things are scams that will corrupt a Mac or just prevent it from working. I generally recommend erasing the affected Macs and reconfiguring them from the ground up. Yes they are that bad.
