increasing Ram from 16 GB to 32 GB - new Macbook Pro

This is an Apple M1 Pro purchased November 2022. with Applecare I was told i could run multiple adobe apps on it with 16 gb, yet it keeps running out of ram. It has 4 Terabytes of storage. Can I have it upgraded to 32 Ram? Is there anything else I can do? I use CleanMyMac almost every day for a temporary fix.

Thanks for responding. Just spent time with Apple Support. One issue is I hadnt turned off my mac for 120 days. Had no idea i had to restart at least once a week because of accummulation-duh. Below is the message I keep getting. He showed me how to use activity monitor which was a good start. I am hoping things will go better now but was ressured by your saying I should be able to do my work with 16 .. Any more ideas would be appreciated. What do I use if I get rid of CleanMyMac??? Or not... Thanks again.

If you bought DIRECT from Apple, and your Mac was unsatisfactory for any reason, you have 14 days to return it for a full-value refund or exchange.

Beyond the 14 days, your only recourse is to convert it to CASH (by selling it) and use the cash to buy a system that better meets your needs.

RAM memory has been soldered down for maximum reliability in MacBook Pro models since late 2012 models.

You should be able to yes.

, yet it keeps running out of ram.

What do you mean it keeps running out of RAM? What exactly is happening? Unless you are using really large high resolution videos, it's not really likely to be running out of RAM with traditional usage off Adobe Apps. What Adobe apps are you using exactly?

Where are you seeing you are running out of RAM?

Remove CleanMyMac. It's worthless, and causes more issues than it solves.

Three things ...

What Adobe apps are you using, and what versions are they? Some Adobe apps have limits to how much RAM they may use; have you checked your Preferences for memory limits (for example, Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Memory Usage).

What evidence do you have that it "runs out of ram?" (Seriously, it will help to know whatever messages or other evidence you have seen.) An M1Pro Mac has both RAM and an SSD and if the system needs to use more RAM than it has, it will utilize space (aka swap space) on the SSD as necessary.

Most experienced people here will recommend that you get rid of CleanMyMac, as it usually causes more problems than it solves.
