Broken apple pencil 2 tip

Hi,

my one week old pencil 2 fell of the table, tip broke off. Brought it to the Apple store, they couldn't get the remain bit out, gave it back to me. Tried to get it out with all the howtos available on the internet (push the tip back in and turn, use some thing sharp to turn it out), but the remaining bit won't turn. No way to get it out.

What are my options besides throwing 150 euro unused in the trashcan?

Thanks,

Andrej

I would expect an apple store to get you a new one.

If the Pencil has been dropped and the visible pencil tip has been broken, you are likely to have damaged the fragile metal transducer element that can been seen with the user-replaceable pencil tip removed from the iPad.

If your iPad has benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan, this providing coverage for accidental damage, your Pencil may also be covered.

Otherwise, you have no protection at all for accidental damage - as this is not a warranty issue. As such, dropping your Pencil onto a hard surface may result in unrepairable damage that you - and you alone - will have to pay for replacement.
