Unable to verify phone number for iMessage keeps saying error occurred during activation try again

Been trying to activate my phone number to iMessage and keep getting error occurred during activation, I’ve followed all the guides to switch iMessage off, restart phone and turn back on. I’ve also backed up my phone and reset it and still can’t get iMessage to verify my phone number. Can anyone please help with this issue?
