Photos will ignore name when sorted by date

Hello! I am new to MacOS and is having a problem

I currently have many albums to sort my pictures and I love sorting them

One of the worst thing I have encountered is that Photos will ignore the name of pictures that have the same date

For example, if I have [001,002,003] with same date, these will not be shown in order by their name but have some random order(I have no idea what rules)

Almost every software and os I used would sort them by date then by name(or filename) but something is not right with Photos

I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong or if there is a solution to this

btw, Many of my pictures have same name so I can't sort them by name

Which system version is installed on your Mac? And what do you mean by the "Name" of a photo? Do you mean the filename of the imported image file? Photos does not allow to sort by the filename at all.

The filename can be shown below the thumbnails when browsing photos, where the title of a photo is shown, but only if we did not add a title to the photo.

We can sort photos by the title or the date taken - this includes the time (hours, minutes, seconds). If a photo has no title, the sorting by the title will ignore the filename. The only system version, where the filename would have been used when sorting by the title, has been Photos 4 on macOS 10.14 Mojave.

To get your albums sorted properly, when sorting the photos by the date, and to solve the conflicts between Photos taken at the same time, you may want to change the capture times of photos taken at exactly the same time. Open the dialog "Image > Adjust Date and time" and adjust the seconds of the capture time to the order you want. Or, alternately, copy the filename to the title of the photo and sort by the title.

I never had it happen, that I had several photos taken at exactly the same time, at the same second, unless it has been a burst of an action series.

That is really difficult, aa you can sort either by title or by date, but not by both at the same time.

So all you can do ist to make sorting by date to reflect the sorting by title, either by adjusting the date or the titles, if a few images are sorted incorrectly.

You ay want to send a feature request to Apple and hope for a fix: Feedback - Photos - Apple

With my cameras it is automatic, as the filename image numbers are incremented automatically by the camera, and the range of image numbers is very large, with seven digits, so there are rarely duplicate image numbers, and the sorting by image numbers in the title is the same as the sorting by time.

Hello!

Sorry about the misuse of words, I'm new to Mac words

I'm using Ventura 13.2 M1 Pro macbook

I changed all my images to have filename as title so yes they have title

Also my pictures that are supposed to be together have same year, month, date, and time(up to seconds)

example, when sorted by date, title 043 will come before 036 even though they have same date and time

I have to check your 'capture time' stuff but I can't change all the capture time of tens of thousands of pictures

I can't sort by name due to many files having same filename(it's thousands of files compiled together)
