So, my issue has been that I’ve had some songs in my iTunes/Apple Music library for years (or not even) and I LOVE the lyrics feature, even if I already know the song, I like following along and occasionally realizing I’ve been singing it wrong for x amount of years.

I noticed that if I played the same song that has been in my library from the artist page it would have the lyrics, but not when I’d try to add it to my library/playlist a second time. It’s like my copy or whatever version I have overwrites the Apple Music one. Maybe a conversion issue?

I’m here because I finally decided to google this issue…which has been mostly a dead end. I haven’t tried doing the language thing, BUT! I found something that works.

1st - I went to settings, scrolled down to music, and turned off “add playlist songs.”

2nd - I went to a random playlist and deleted the song from my library that I know didn’t show the lyrics.

3rd - I then went to the artist page and added the song I removed back to the playlist it was removed from. The song can still be downloaded, even though it hasn’t technically been added to your library.

& now the lyrics show!

I’m sure not everyone would want to do this, but here’s an option if the lack of lyrics from songs in your library annoys you as much as it annoyed me. I also rarely play songs directly from my library, I listen to playlists pretty much 24/7.

I hope this helps someone!

Hi there Harshaekanayaka,

If you are having issues seeing lyrics in Apple Music on your iPhone, first ensure you are following these steps from See lyrics and sing in Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad:

How to see lyrics on your iPhone or iPad
1. Open the Apple Music app.
2. Play a song from the Apple Music catalog.
3. At the bottom of the screen, tap the song that's playing.
• To show or hide lyrics, tap Lyrics the Lyrics button at the bottom of your screen. If available, time-synced lyrics will automatically appear on your screen.
• If time-synced lyrics aren’t available, then you might see the full lyrics for the song instead.

If you are not seeing lyrics for certain songs, this explains why this might happen:

If you don't see lyrics on your iPhone or iPad
If the Lyrics button the Lyrics button is grayed out, you’re playing a song that's not from the Apple Music catalog, lyrics aren’t available for that song, or you're not connected to the internet.

We hope that helps!

This has been happening to you too? This has been really annoying. It's not every song for me, but some that had lyrics the DAY before no longer have a usable lyrics button. This has been happening for around a week for me now. It's not limited to one artist, so I know it's not a revising issue, and it's not limited to iOS for me (iTunes>Right Click "X Song">Song Info>Lyrics, proceeds to show "Lyrics not available"), so I know it's not an iOS app issue. It's really confusing. Support was a brick wall for me too.
