My calculator will no longer open on my 2022 M2 MacBook Air. Message reads "The application "Calculator.app" is not open anymore." The "?" in the upper-right opens a blank frame. What do I do?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. To isolate where this occurs and possibly resolve the issue, try starting up in safe mode and see if the Calculator app will open there. Since safe mode prevents some software from loading, it can be a good way to narrow things down. It also deletes some caches so might fix this. Use the following guidance from How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support to access and test in safe mode.

Use your results there to proceed.
