Unusual Traffic Warning on Google Calendars

One of my clients contacted me recently about her customers getting a warning when they look at her business's Google Calendar that I embedded on her website. I see the same message when I look at it:

"Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot."

There's a ReCaptcha on the page but checking it doesn't do anything. I'm posting this in Apple's forum because it ONLY happens in Safari, and on all devices; macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. When I test it in Chrome, Firefox, DuckDuckGo, or Opera on any device/OS it works fine.

This started happening last fall and I still haven't found any reason or fix. Has anyone else seen this issue? I have to believe this is a problem with Safari. The problem is, even if I find a fix that I can use myself, my client can't keep asking her customers to change their phone settings or use a different browser in order to see her calendar.

Hi ndelc,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

On your device, are you able to check if the issue persists on a newly created user account?

If no, let’s test if the issue persists on a newly created user account.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
  3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
  4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
  5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
  6. Click Create User.

You can use the article below as a reference.

If you are experiencing the issue when signed in on a different user account, please check if the issue persists while on safe mode.

Performing this step may help resolve the issue, or further isolate the issue.

Below is an article to help guide you through the process.

If you haven't, please make sure that you are also using the latest version of macOS Ventura.

Taking a guess that it may be related to the newer privacy protections in macOS / iOS / iPadOS:

Safari -> Settings -> Privacy

  • Website tracking prevention
  • Hide IP address

System Settings -> Network -> Wi-Fi / Ethernet adaptor -> Network Settings

  • Limit IP address tracking

System Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> Private Relay
