Crossfade will not work

I've updated to Ventura 13.2 and crossfade won't work anymore. I've tried everything to fix the problem: rebooted, closed down Music, ticked and unticked the boxes...nothing's working. Is this a bug in 13.2?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.2
