3 dots at top center of App windows on IPad Pro not working

For the past few days the three dots that are top center on App windows used for closing or split screen have not been working when I tap/touch the screen. Stage manager is off. Is this a bug in the latest update 16.3 or did I change a setting that I am unaware of.

As multitasking features cannot be disabled in iPadOS16, this is mot something that you have influenced from within iPad settings.

If you iPad is not behaving as expected, try a forced restart - as this will usually clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
