Why hasn't this boot from any key 'feature' been fixed?

I just got a new MacBook Air and I just want to wipe down my keyboard. I turn it off, and then when I try to wipe it down, AVOIDING the power button on purpose, IT STILL TURNS ON. This has been an issue for years, apparently. I've looked through the support questions. There is no solution. There needs to be a solution. We spend a LOT of money for Apple products. Why isn't there some key to press or combination of keys to press while it's booting up to prevent boot up AT THE VERY LEAST?

Do better Apple.

Probably because there isn't anything to be fixed; that is indeed a feature.

You could try the following, but it will not be permanent.

Press and hold the left Control and Command buttons with the right Shift button for a total of 7 seconds. Without releasing them, press the Power button and hold them all together for an additional 7 seconds. Your Mac can only be powered on by using the Power button.
