Monterey selective with it's Bluetooth?

By using a wired mouse and keyboard I was able to set up the 'old' style mouse & keyboard to my late 2013 Mac Pro running Monterey.

These were from a Mac Mini that I still use.

So I purchased the newer wireless '2' keyboard & mouse.

But the Mac Pro will ONLY recognize the Mac Mini keyboard & mouse.

I tried deleting the old kb & mouse from the BT prefs, but the new kb & mouse still are not discovered.

Restarting the Mac after deleting the old kb & mouse STILL has the Mac searching for the Mac Mini kb & mouse!!

Resetting the Bluetooth did not help the situation.

At my wits end on what to do to be able to use the new kb & mouse.
