Turning off swipe to fast forward/rewind video?

I actually like the feature for one hand use. I noticed it is gone in ios17. Can it just be a option/toggle to satisfy both user base?

Trash? Quit touching your screen, the feature is nice, makes it easy to scroll to videos

I love this feature too, and now because people cried about it they took it away. You are right they should come up with an on/off for this

Bring back fast fwd/rewind swipe! I found out, accidentally, and it’s the best feature, ever!

Please have a option for this feature, it’s so annoying to have on all the time, or instead of the bottom of screen maybe a certain section but the bottom and sides are not the way, super super annoying happens multiple times a day for me

This is a horrible feature and you think someone would have at least couple of brain cells to add a simple enable disable but no the team which has designed this feature doesn’t have anyone with couple of brain cells

Does anyone know how to bring this to Apple’s attention? Providing a setting/toggle should’ve been the option. This is me first time posting BECAUSE THE FEATURE IS GONE.

Currently, it’s just dragging the video in full screen. How is this better? What utilities does this even provide? Just brainless.

I honestly get that not everyone wants this feature, but imagine how annoying it is to have this feature suddenly removed and now your muscle memory is useless. You try to swipe forward and now it just moves the whole video and closes it. PLEASE, just make it a toggle option. Let the people who want it, use it. Anyone else can leave it turned off.

I loved that feature, I understand not everyone did, can we please bring it back as an option people can turn on/off!

it was very helpful in fast forwarding, and it was very smooth how you can see what’s happening in the video so you know you haven’t skipped the part you are looking for, as opposed to using the progress bar at the bottom.

Apple please return this feature back somehow, so it can be turned on or toggled, even if as you say it interferes with some multitouch functionalities. Please return it, because it is amazing, it needs only one touch to rewind or fast forward, plus big plus it dose it so smoothly comparing to bar at the bottom, and just one touch and move, not as previously you need to touch display then do something there, plus it dims display it all takes time and comfort.

so please do your best to get it back.

i just made the new Update and i lost my fav feature 😩i came to look for how to turn it on 🥲 - its kinda less control for the fast forwarding or back-warding and annoying and need to use both hands

Oh my god- this feature is the worsr. I avoid using the appletv app like the plague due to this. SO annoying
