Asus Zenscreen compatible with MacBook Pro?

I have tried to connect the Asus Zenscreen MB166c with my MacBook Pro, but it doesn't seem to work. Does anybody know what I could do? Thanks so much for any help.

For that display data: USB-C 3.1 SuperSpeed+ rated cable UNDER 1 meter in length.

Sometimes the cables "shipped in the box" end up being optimized for 'lowest bidder' and may not provide best results.

If the power adapter was not plugged into your Mac, plug it in to run these experiments.

what cables/adapter/docks did you use?

The Mac uses a system that reminds me of “Plug and play” to determine what display is connected, and what its capabilities are.

To get a Mac display to become active, you need the Mac to query the display, and the display to answer with its name and capabilities. Otherwise, the display will not be shown as present, and no data will be sent to the display. "No signal detected" is generated by the DISPLAY, not by the Mac.

This query is only sent at certain times:

• at startup

• at wake from sleep — so momentarily sleeping and waking your Mac may work

• at insertion of the Mac-end of the display-cable, provided everything on that cable is ready-to-go

• hold the Option key while you click on the (Detect Display) button that will appear in Displays preferences (from another display)

so try doing some of those things and see if the display comes alive.

Hi Grant, thanks for the fast reply.

I have the power connected. In the "displays" it does not show the Asus screen as an option (only my iPad).

I tried all the options you have given, however nothing works and the Asus screen still repeats "USB C- no signal".

I checked the drivers of the Asus for this type and I can only choose a windows operating system and no Mac ones. Therefore I wondered if it is compatible.

thanks for all your help
