Removing titles/captions without removing related sound

In iMovie, I put in the sound and the titles for captions first. When I added the images, the titles/captions did not show up on the images. When I delete the "titles," the sound goes away as well. Suggestions, please.

Another thing: In your original configuration with the title clip above the sound clip, if you put your cursor on the sound clip and, while pressing down, pull the clip downward until the little coupling handle pulls off of the title clip above it, then when you delete the title clip the sound clip will not be deleted.

Is this the work flow that you followed, adding in 1, 2, 3 order?

If so, you can see that there is a little connector that couples the sound clip to the title. So when you delete the title that will also delete the sound clip that is coupled to it.

Also, you have the title in the main timeline. Instead, the photo or video clip should be in the main timeline and the title then placed above it. Otherwise the title will not show up on the images. What you can do is slide the image off of the title and place it down on the main timeline.

Then, with your cursor, push the title clip upward and the image clip will then slide under it. You should be good to go.

Could you post a screen shot of your timeline so we can see what is the situation?

Also, make a duplicate of your project and work with the duplicate so you can preserve your original work. To make a duplicate of the project go to the projects browser screen (where your projects are displayed as icons). Move your cursor over the project icon. A little circle with three dots in it will appear to the right of the title. Click on it and, from the pop up menu that appears, click on Duplicate Project.
