I can see my polar HRM data showing up in apple health for heart rate.

However, my cardio fitness has dropped because gym sessions where I’ve used my Polar H10 are ignored by the cardio fitness calculations. Looking at the cardio fitness data there’s no data at all for my gym sessions.

This is quite annoying because the HRM is def more accurate.

Oh I think I figured it out… cardio fitness is only calculated for certain workout types - outdoor walk, run or hike.

Actually this makes total sense because it needs to have some measure of what you achieved vs the level of heart rate.

On an elliptical trainer you might have it at resistance level 1 or 20 and the watch wouldn’t know.

What I can do is use vo2max estimator built into the techno gym x-trainer and manually enter it. 👍

Hey there DarranPotter,

While you may need to reach out to the Polar HRM Support, we'd like to help rule out some possible causes from the Apple side of things, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. If the data showed in the Health app in the past for that accessory third-party, when did this start?
  2. If you're pairing with a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  3. Have you checked with Polar HRM Support see if they have any updates for your device?
  4. Have you tried a restart of both devices?
  5. Are you able to add the correct data to Health using the steps here? Check out: Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

Cheers!
