Past the very limited display of significant locations—both when location services are enabled, and when significant locations is also enabled—no, iPhone does not keep your travels.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations

Apple provides very recent data there, and the saved data is kept for ~six weeks, and the saved data is not displayed and not available. The saved data can be cleared, and that mechanism can be disabled.

Outside of significant locations, and outside of mechanisms such as exercise routes, iPhone does not generate and does not keep maps of your travels.

Troubleshooting a Lost iPhone:

Alternatively to using Find My, you'l have to do so the old fashioned way. Find My can only be enabled directly on the iPhone, itself. It cannot be enabled elsewhere. So, is it enabled on the iPhone?

So, what to Try:

• Dial it: See if it is heard ringing

• Ask Local Authorities: See if it has be hanged over.

• Text It: Ask whomever has come across it, to contact you.

• Ask Someone: See if someone you know (i.e. Friend, or Family Member) if that came across it.

• Backtrack your Locations: If you are at a coffee shop, or a library, stop by and see if it was safely placed aside.

If you didn’t loose your phone and are only curious where you were last night because you can’t remember (you don’t give any indication that you lost your phone) there are third party apps available to map a route in real time.

Your iPhone does not archive your location. Ask the folks who were with you for assistance with your memory.

There is no way to track old locations on your iPhone whether Location Services is on or off.

Again, no history is saved regarding the iPhone's former locations.
