Apple TV app intermittent connectivity problems

I'm getting this error when attempting to watch "Prehistoric planet”. However, my Internet connection is excellent and I can watch other content on Apple TV.


I can also watch any other streaming app. The App has been closed and reopened and the TV and router have been restarted. What else could be the problem?

All the content in the Apple TV app should show the same behavior. Video availability doesn’t depend on title, episode, nor time (moment). There seems to be an issue getting a valid response from the remote server. That can be something on the device, on the remote server, or anything in between (ISP, home network).


  1. Verify if there are known outages on Apple’s side: System status - Apple Support
  2. Verify internet connectivity on that same device at that same time (e.g. different app), for time-related network interruptions.
  3. Try deleting and re-installing the Apple TV app.

There are other things you can check when all Apple TV app content gives this error.

Else contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance. They can verify a few more things that us mortals do not have access to.
