Apple Music will not work on wifi

My Apple Music app has refused to work while connected to WiFi. This is a problem that started in January (I've been a paid subscriber since April 2019, and it has worked well all this time until sometimes in June 2022 when I started having problems - like streaming halting halfway thru a song or something).


I'm using the app on an android device (Samsung A53)

Hi Mike, thanks for your quick response.


A couple of things to clarify


1. It is my home wifi network

2. The bandwidth is a consistently 30MBS

2. Ping is at 16ms (as at times of writing this)

3. Jitter is at 57ms (as at time of writing this)

4. I can stream on my laptop browser very well (in the same home wifi network)

5. I can neither download nor stream music on the app on my Android phone (even it is the only device that is actually accessing the wifi).

6. If I switch to mobile data, the app on my Android device works perfectly fine.

Thanks for the update. If this only happens when connected to a Wi-Fi network, it may be network related. We would recommend you use this article to help troubleshoot the issue.


Does this happen if you connect to a different Wi-Fi network?

If you're encountering issues when playing songs from Apple Music on a specific network, it may be related to bandwidth, speed, or traffic on the network.


Try downloading songs, and testing to see whether they play without issue when stored locally on your device:


How to add music from Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, or Android
1: Open the Apple Music app.
2: Touch and hold a song, album, or playlist that you want to add to your library.
3: Tap Add to Library.
