Home Display
After the latest 16 update, I have superimposed time and battery displays at the top of the screen. I have performed a restart to no avail. Any suggestions?

Yes. That's because you're using a screenshot (supposedly from your lock screen) as the background on your home screen. If you change the background on your home screen, it will look normal.
When you take a screenshot, e.g. on the lock screen, that screenshot will also contain your battery indicator, clock etc. in the status bar. When you then take the same screenshot and set it as the background on your home screen, it will look like this.
