Lost ceiling fan icon/glyph and floor lamp in iOS 16…

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 16.3

I have three Lutron Caseta ceiling fan controllers, and have had for a few years. Up through iOS 15.x, I could set the icon to look like a ceiling fan, and it even moved when the fan was on.

since upgrading to iOS 16, the icon is locked, and only shows a table fan, which doesn’t move.

also, the floor lamp icon has gone missing. Though, with the lamp, I can at least select another icon.

can we please get the ceiling fan and floor lamp icons back?

Thanks for the additional information Larry West, it’s appreciated.

Since updating your iPhone to iOS 16.3, have you updated the Lutron App? If not, see if there’s an update provided: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

If there wasn’t an update or updating the app didn’t help, you’ll need to reach out to the App Developer. Here’s how: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

Take care.

"Integrating Apple HomeKit with the Lutron App

This article will provide instructions on integrating Apple HomeKit with your Lutron Lighting control system via the Lutron App. It will provide step by step instructions on linking, programming and voice commands associated with Siri voice control.

I have previously set up the Lutron app, and everything works as advertised. I can call to Siri to activate the fans, they appear in the Home app, and can be controlled there. None of that is at issue.

What I am talking about his the icon or glyph that goes along with the object in the Home app. If I connect a lamp (as one of my many Hue lamps), I can alter the appearance of the icon or glyph to reflect that it is a pendant light, chandelier, desk lamp, Luxo lamp, ceiling pot lamp, etc.

In ios 15 and earlier, one could also change the icon/glyph for a fan object. With ios 15, my ceiling fan icons LOOKED LIKE ceiling fans, and even showed motion when running. I could also have selected a table fan, or a box fan for the icon.

If you look at the two images below, the one for the Old Lamp has an orange box around the yellow lamp icon, which indicates that it can be changed. The one for the bronze fan has no orange box around the blue fan icon, so no other icon can be sued there.

This change happened concurrent with upgrading to ios 16.
