My wife and I are on the same Apple Family account. She started receiving emails about her iCloud payment having expired. What we discovered is that the card I use for the Family account had expired. I had to update the information on my iPhone/iCloud account, and that cleared up the problem with her account. Not sure why she was receiving the emails and not me, but fixing the issue on my account cleared up the problem with hers.
