Auto select current residence...

I've setup two "Homes" in HomeKit. One is my actual home, one is my office. I have Apple HomeKit devices both places.

Any time I open the HomeKit app is defaults to my Primary Home and has a GPS emblem next to it. I have all location services turned on. I was hoping my phone would be smart enough to go to my work location when I'm at work but that doesn't seem to be the case. And there's no GPS emblem next to that "Home" in HomeKit.

Am I missing something or is this simplest of features not available?

Good afternoon phreakstorm,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you are trying to set up a second location for Homekit, and we'd like to help.

When you set up your second home, did you give it a different name, like Office, with Location Services enabled?

You can manually switch between the two locations in the Home app by tapping the Home icon in the upper left corner of the iPhone display.

If you want the locations to switch automatically:

  1. Tap the Home icon.
  2. Tap the 3 dots (ellipsis) in the upper right corner of the iPhone display.
  3. Tap Home Settings.
  4. Tap the Home Switching button to toggle it on.
  5. Tap Done.

If the issue persists, please reply to this thread and we'll do our best to help you!

Take care.
