What’s Best stylus for 1 st generation iPad Air?

What is currently the Best stylus that’s compatible with and for writing notes (I use notability) on the 1 st generation iPad Air?

I used a andoit stylus with the disk tip for the last 9 years and recently lost and now I need to buy a new one… since fall 2013, there have obviously been a lot of upgrades to stylus pens —however most won’t be compatible with my iPad Air. I unfortunately don’t have the time or availability to try all them out many day they are compatible with older models but if you read the reviews people say it didn’t work with their older iPad … I belive the bluetooth fancy apple pens won’t work unfortunately because the original late 2013 1st gen iPad Air doesn’t have the internal parts to support it —so I am asking for help from the community of people who have tried stylus on this model and a quick solution to help me get back on track for writing - with the best option that’s available for my iPad iand supported by it in 2023

thank you for your time reading this and support ❤️

The first generation iPad Air fundamentally doesn’t support Apple Pencil - and therefore the compatible alternatives, such as the Logitech Crayon and Zagg Stylus Pro are also unsuitable.

Unless the iPad provides Apple pencil support, you are limited to using a third-party Bluetooth stylus (such as the Adonit) - however, these all reliant upon explicit support being provided by compatible Apps.

The iPad Air1 is very much in the twilight of support - now only receiving occasional security updates. Consider that your iPad Air is incapable of update beyond iOS 12.5.7 - whereas iPadOS 16.3 is current.

All current-model iPads support iPadOS16 - and with it the advanced capabilities of iPadOS and full support for one of the available two models of Apple Pencil. The entry-level iPad9 is considerably more advanced than your Air1 - and supports the first generation Apple Pencil and third-party alternatives - and has performance and capabilities that are light-years ahead of your Air1.

Truly, your best quick fix is to consider replacement of your Air1 with something much more flexible and capable. If using an active stylus is important to you, you’ll have access to many alternatives to your Adonit.
