AirPods Keep Disconnecting
Has anyone experienced their AirPods (1st) disconnecting when you receive a call and won’t connect again until you put them back into the case, switch off and then switch on Bluetooth?

Hello Knight758,
We'd suggest starting by making sure your iPhone is updated to the latest software version, which is iOS 16.3. You can check the currently installed version in Settings > General > About. If needed, learn more about updating your iPhone here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Also, you'll want to check the firmware version of your AirPods and make sure it's also up-to-date. The current version is 6.8.8. You can follow the steps in this link to check the firmware version: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support
Next, try resetting your AirPods with these steps to see if that resolves the issue for you:
1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
- If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info buttonnext to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
- If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.
You'll find these steps here: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support
Take care.
