So I am travelling to NY and was wondering if i buy a iPhone 14 pro max will it work in the uk?

Yes, your iPhone 14 Pro Max also works in the UK.
The only limitation may be your UK carrier. You should be aware that your carrier in UK must support eSIM, as the iPhone 14 series in the US does not have a SIM tray for a physical SIM card. You should also be aware that the iPhone you buy in the US is not SIM-locked.
