My iPad freezes after I put in password

as I said, my iPad freezes after I input my password. I tried putting in the wrong one to see if it does, and it gives the shake like it’s the wrong one but when I put the correct one in, it freezes and won’t do anything. After about a minute, the machine restarts and I have to do it all again. What can I do to fix this problem?
