DisplayPort sound stuttering

Has this issue been solved yet. I hooked up my monitor to my MacBook Pro M1 13”, and i get the same stuttery, echoing audio. Has anyone come up with a better fix than rebooting?

Hey Nik Carrie,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. From what we understand, when monitor is connected to the MacBook Pro, the audio echoes and stutters.

You mentioned restarting the Mac temporarily resolves the issue. Safe mode is used to determine whether or not the issue is caused by software that loads when the computer loads. Boot into safe mode and see if the issue occurs. We've provided the steps below and you can also read the here: Start up your Mac in safe mode.

Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode
1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.

Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.

2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.

3. Select a volume.

4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.

The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.

After testing, restart normally to see if issue is resolved. If you need additional help, let us know.

Take care.
