Hi lowerpro,
We're happy to assist.
The first and last name associated with your Apple ID will be the same across all devices if you're signing in with the same Apple ID. For example, if your name is John Doe and your Apple ID is XXX@gmail.com, the moment you sign in to your iPad, iPhone, or Mac with XXX@gmail.com, your name, John Doe, will pop up.
With that said, you can have different device names and still be OK. For example, you can label your iPhone as "John's iPhone 7" and your iPad as "SuperJohn's iPad."
The naming scheme of your multiple Apple devices will not have a negative impact on your Apple ID and password.
