printer and hard drive sharing

I have a wireless network (Eero) in my apartment for printer sharing, hard drive sharing and wireless internet access. Our building is installing WAPs all around the building provided by our local cable/internet provider, so all of our computers will access those WAPs for internet. How do I continue to share my printer and hard drive? Do I need to keep my wireless network in place just for printer and hard drive sharing?

Hey John C Lin,

While all networks and setups are different, generally you will need to have your computer on the same network as a networked printer in order to print to it wirelessly. AirPrint for example works over the same Wi-Fi network.

You may be albe to swap back to your home, now strictly local network to print, then connect back to your building provided access point, however to print wirelessly, a printer would need to be connected to a network.
