Mine are different on AirPods Pro gen 2. There’s 3 different S/N actually one for case, left pod, right pod and they work just fine. Probably already know this but if not just click the S/N number under AirPods menu in settings.

They have AppleCare+ It better not be an issue if I ever need to send them in. That look up just showed me the case serial number. Lady at Apple told me if I need call in just give them the S/N off the case
Yes they were direct from Apple.
they were bought together as single purchase just the AirPods Pro gen 2 from Apple Store.
In settings isn’t only place it’s on either. I used magnifier bc its hard to see but if you look on the underside of each AirPod where the stem starts coming from the pod you ll see another S/N

Strange. Where did you purchase these? Are they from the same purchase. If Apple, it may be an inconsistency in the device's database.

B. A Glitch in Apple's Device Database?
I would contact Apple Support, asking them if there is a glitch in their user database. You should not be getting this message, if they have already been repaired. If these are used, then that may be why this is occurring.

Yes. Both AirPods have to have the same Serial Number. If they are different, then they simply will not work.
