My phone just started locking vertically instead of horizontally when I press the locking icon. I have restarted my phones and do not see this being an issue anywhere, other than people restarting/pressing the lock icon.
Did Apple push out an update that broke this feature? My phone is up to date.

We hope you’ll be able to offer some additional clarity on the situation. Are you putting your iPhone to sleep, engaging rotation lock or something else? If putting it to sleep, is your iPhone in landscape mode when you put it to sleep or do you notice the situation as you wake your device up?
Also, let’s check to see if the situation persists while rotation lock is enabled. Rotate the screen on your iPhone or iPod touch
1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
2. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button to make sure that it is enabled.
