How can I use Photoshop 5 on my old iMac running Mojave?

How can I used my Photoshop 5 on my old mac? It's working on my daughter's compute the system is El Capitain but on mine its Mojave cause Adobe told me to install that version?

Photoshop 5 is rather flakey on Mojave. CS6 just runs without issue.


High Sierra was the last version of macOS that would run 32 bit apps without compromise (Apple's words). In Mojave, they started to clear out full support of 32 bit apps. Some run well, some not so well, and others not at all.

I’m not sure where the cutoff is, but somewhere in the recent operating system releases support for 32 bit programs was removed.


You would probably need to google specific compatibility between Adobe CS5 and your apple operating system but I bet that’s it. (I too have old copies of CS 5 and 6 that will not install on current Apple systems…I don’t know the specific time when 32 bit support was removed but I know it was)
