Recording an electric guitar straight from pedalboard via iRig on Garageband iPad withouth amp - Direct Box

I am thinking of using Direct Box amp for bass as the only viable option, since there's no direct way of recording my guitar from pedalboard to GarageBand bypassing the GB amps. However I cannot access the controls ( i.e blend) described on this page Use the direct box in GarageBand on Mac - Apple Support (PH). Are they not available in iPad version of Garageband but only in the Mac version?
