Apple Music family plan

I just renewed my subscription for Apple Music. I had individual accounts for my husband and myself. I decided to go with the family share plan, and did it through his Apple account. First, I lost all my music and his. Then I went on my phone and was asked to renew my subscription! I thought I had to get the family plan on my phone to. Then I realized I had been charged for it again. So I’m paying 16.99 on both phones? Some thing is not right. How do I get the plan on both but only pay once and find my music? Aggravated!

Hey there Riva1967,

From what it sounds like, it seems your husband's Apple ID is being used as the family organizer for your Family Sharing group. It also sounds like you may have been charged for the same subscription multiple times. We'd like to confirm some more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. Regarding being charged multiple times for the same subscription, you can request a refund using the steps here: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple
  2. As you mentioned setting up an Apple Music family subscription, not an individual one, what exactly shows when you try using Apple Music?
  3. Did your husband go through the steps in this link to set up Apple Music family subscription? Check out: Get an Apple Music family subscription

Cheers!
