Be patient, you may have to wait overnight for it to complete the process. Filevaulting an entire drive if interrupted could have dire consequences. If you forget the master password or your data isn't backed up there is no real way to retrieve your data. I hope you prepared before starting it.

it is really dangerous to interrupt it unless you have a known backup elsewhere that isn't touched by it.
