A few days ago I formatted my MacBook and I might have done something wrong because now I have two Macintosh HD - Data volumes, one of them outside the volume group.
The computer works perfectly, but I admit that this is make me uncomfortable, does anyone know who to fix it?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.2
Make sure to have a good backup of all your data.
Then start over with a clean install of macOS by first erasing the whole physical drive (Intel Mac only) followed by installing macOS & restoring from a backup. Within Disk Utility you may need to click "View" and select "Show All Devices" so that the physical drive appears on the left pane of Disk Utility. If you have an M1/M2 Apple Silicon Mac, then just erase both "Macintosh HD - Data" volumes...the one part of the Container should prompt you to delete the "Volume Group" as well..do so. Leave all other volumes & containers as they are on Apple Silicon as they are required for booting the Apple Silicon Mac even for recovery mode.
Here are the Apple instructions...my instructions are a bit better & easier for an Intel Mac. You will need to follow the "Erase Disk" link in these instructions especially for an Apple Silicon Mac.
