Re: Is autocad optimized on MacBook with M1 chip?

Wondering what kind of optimisation you expect Apple to come up with.

You are likely aware AutoCad is not Apple software,

Seems it is up to AutoCad's developers which platforms their software is optimised for, and can be used on:

For the purchased subscription version of AutoCad:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-AutoCAD-2022-including-Specialized-Toolsets.html

Amongst system requirements, says for Mac:

"Recommended: Apple Mac® models supporting Metal Graphics Engine

Apple Mac models with M series chip are supported under Rosetta 2 mode".

OR

With the AutoCad web version:

Seems it mainly depends upon having a browser the developers say is compatible:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-web-app/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/AutoCAD-Web-Help/files/Settings-and-Preferences/AutoCAD-Web-Help-browsers-html-html.html

says:

The AutoCAD web app is supported by the following browsers on Windows or Mac:

    • 64-bit Google Chrome (version 96 or later)
    • 64-bit Mozilla Firefox (version 100 or later)
    • 64-bit new Microsoft Edge (Chromium based, version 96 or later)

Minimum processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU N3160 @ 1.60GH

All the best :-)
