Auto rotate stopped working

Auto rotate stopped working. Tried suggested fixes in Apple help article, didn't work. Chatted with Apple text help (was redundant/slow to respond) was no help. "Diego" set up a help call for today at 11am Pacific time but no call has come. Any suggestions from community on fixing auto rotate beyond what I 've tried?
