spotify plays on iphone when airpods are removed from ears

When playing spotify from iphone and airpods pro. When I remove my airpods pro from my ears, the music stops for a few seconds, then plays off the iphone's speaker. Instead of just stopping.

Please advise.

Hi Grace2211

Thank you for your reply. However, the automatic ear detection is enabled. I tried disabling then enabling. I've restarted the airpods; restarted the iphone; and it still transfers to playing on the iphone when i take the airpods out of my ears.

To clarify: spotify is playing from my iphone, through my airpods. I take one airpod out, the music stops, then I take the other airpod out. A couple seconds pass with the airpods out of my ears, and then the music continues playing (the same music that was playing in my airpods when i had them in my ears) from the iPhone's speaker. this is with automatic ear detection enabled.

Please help.

Greetings Matthieufromnew york,

You can follow these steps to enable automatic ear detection for your AirPods:

1. "Wear your AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.

2. Do one of the following:

    • On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings , tap the name of your AirPods near the top of the screen, then turn Automatic Ear Detection on or off."

More details here: Change settings for AirPods (1st and 2nd generation)
