im struggling with not enough usbc ports

Hi i have a macbook air M1 with 2 usbc ports and a headphone port. I am trying to have one usb as power, one as an external monitor and one as an audio out for a small studio set up using logic pro. . I tried using the headphone port for audio out but it was so awful in quality and at the wrong output level that it isn't fit for purpose. I have multiple usbC splitters but when more than one device is connected none of them work. Also, when i close the lid on the laptop the external monitor goes off and i cannot find a setting to stop it. is there a way out of this without spending more again on expensive docking solutions? Help please!

Hello incare,

Regarding your first issue, there's always an issue of compatibility when dealing with third party devices on Apple devices, I'd recommend using no more than two adaptors. My suggestion is this combination dock - Satechi Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter.

Are you sure you don't have a hardware issue, maybe outside your Mac? I don't understand what it's so awful about Mac's audio port, I use them for music creation as well and everything sounds great. .

For the second issue, I believe these are the steps you should be following:

1.

2.
