Wow! This is a real “A-haaa” moment!
This is for “the hosts” to think about, keep reading!
I feel like an idiot (and you must already think I am 😂)
I can’t thank you enough for your outstanding patience @IdrisSeabright !
So this is the thing: I’ve completely confused what you mean when you say “thread”, “post”, and “comment”, because:
1) When I received emails saying “We removed your post ‘How do I add links in posts and comments in Safari on iPhone?’”, I understood my removed “post” to be the entire thread, because “How do I add …” is the title of the thread, and the title did not occurr in any of the removed posts!
2) What the emails should have said is: “We removed your post in ‘How do I add …’”. That removes the confusion! Even better would be: “We removed your post in the thread ‘How do I add …’”. And even better again would be to quote the first few words of the post: “We removed your post ‘Wow! This is …’ in the thread ‘How do I add …’”.
3) So because of the missing “in”, I came to believe that what y’all mean when you say “post” is what I (correctly) call a “thread”.
4) But that left me with the question: what do you/they call a “post”? And sadly, I (incorrectly) jumped to the conclusion that it must be “comment”, because you say that a lot.
5) So from there I got stuck in my thinking until you spelled it out for me in your latest post (Which ironically has just been removed).
6) And to conclude: what you/they call a “comment” is technically the same thing as a “post” (except for the original post), isn’t it? It’s just semantics for if the post is in reply to the original post, or if the post is in reply to a reply, in which case you call it a “comment”, right? It has to be because a lot of the “We removed your post …” emails referred to a reply to a reply i.e. a “comment", and therefore "post" and "comment" is the same thing!
