If I am running a python http.server on port 8000 … does it mean it is open for everybody? Can I prevent to misuse this internal dev-port?

Thanx a lot, Gerhard

If your Mac is behind a Router you control, it default firewall discards all connection attempts from the Internet.

Unless/Until you open port on your Router to allow that traffic onto your network, no one but the local user has access.
