Random FaceTime notifications

I got random notifications from one phone number, all the same time, in the morning after I turned my internet on. It says Join FaceTime call. Is this a bug or it means this person called me while my internet was off? Or something else?

Hello bb202,

Those duplicate notifications could be due to a hiccup in the delivery of that notification, potentially due to you not having internet access at the time.

If you have concerns that the notification is erroneous, and you did not actually receive a FaceTime request from that contact, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Contact - Official Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into that further.

Take care.

Thanks for replying, bb202, and that additional info, it really helps! Yes, these look like FaceTime invites, which behave a little differently than some other notifications when you turn network back on. To let Apple know you would like this to work differently, please do this here:

Hello Bb202,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It appears that you missed several FaceTime calls while your internet was off. Therefore, this appears to be expected behavior. By chance, have you reached out to this person to verify that they contacted you? If not, verify that they contacted you via FaceTime.

Cheers.

Hello Grace2211,

thank you for your reply. Usually when I know someone called me while my internet was off I don't get any notifications or missed calls, or at least I haven't noticed the notifications so far. I am no longer in contact with the person who called, so that is why I wanted to search for an answer here, I am not able to ask them. I thought maybe it's a bug since all the notifications came at once? Or that is just because they all came at the same time when my internet turned on?
